Cassandra the Translator

Cassandra has interpreted for presidents, ministers, ambassadors, Nobel laureates, movie stars, Indigenous Peoples’ leaders and working class heroes. After appearing on the David Letterman Show where she interpreted for Chilean miner Edison Peña, USA Today hailed her as “a charming translator” and CNN said she was “great.”

Previous assigments have included working with Pierce Brosnan, Sigourney Weaver, Geoffrey Rush, the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, President Evo Morales Ayma, President Manuel Zelaya and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Rigoberta Menc Tum.

Cassandra lived in Mexico for twelve years and has worked as a professional simultaneous and consecutive interpreter and translator since 1994. She has also worked as a consultant for the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and the International Labor Organization. Her areas of expertise include human rights, multilateral environmental accords like the Kyoto Protocol and the Convention on Biological Diversity, intellectual property rights and the arts.
